These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things
Books

Whole30 is how I began my nutrition journey and I love it to this day. I love how easy it makes food eliminations, I love the recipes (most of them), and I love supporting a company that is owned by a woman.
Here is a link to all of the Whole30 books which, I promise, will be a major help as you transition to a clean, protein-forward diet.

1 in 3 women suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction. In this book, Dr. Sara Reardon takes you through the anatomy of your pelvic floor, common pelvic floor issues, and how you can take back power over your pelvic floor health. You can order the book here.

This book was another life-changing book for me and helped shaped my diet and my understanding of “food for humans”. Order here.
In this book, Dr. Cate Shanahan, M.D. examined diets around the world known to produce the healthiest people—diets like the Mediterranean, Okinawa, and “Blue Zone”—and identified the four common nutritional habits, developed over millennia, that unfailingly produce strong, healthy, intelligent children, and active, vital elders, generation after generation. These Four Pillars–fresh food, fermented and sprouted foods, meat cooked on the bone, and organ meats—form the basis of what Dr. Cate calls “The Human Diet.”

Another life-changing book that took my relationship with my body to a whole other level. Becoming a Supple Leopard by Dr. Kelly Starett, teaches you basic movement mechanics and how you can perform maintenance on your own body. I use many of the principles and techniques found in this book in the programming I create for clients. Order Here.

If you are an active woman transition through peri or post menopause, Next Level by the incomparable Dr. Stacy Sims is a must read. While I don’t recommend it as a programming resource for women just starting their fitness journeys, there is a lot of valuable information in here about hormones that applies to everyone. Please just be aware it is written for seasoned athletes and not beginners. Do not attempt to incorporate the workout and nutrition plans detailed here without the guidance of a coach who knows you and your body. Order here.

Another fantastic book by Dr. Stacy Sims, Roar is the equivalent of Next Level for the regularly cycling woman. If you want to know how your hormonal cycle and period are affecting your body on a cellular, nutritional, and training level, this book is a must-read. Order Here.

Existential Kink by Carolyn Elliott, PhD is definitely different than many of the books on here. It fits much better into the psychology realm than the health and fitness but I will tell you —it will open doors for you.
If you have been stuck in an unhealthy lifestyle and can’t quite figure out why you just can’t seem to leave old habits behind, this might be the beginning of freeing yourself from the life you’ve been trying to get away from. Order Here.

For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently—and far less seriously—than its male counterpart.
That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them. In the years since the book’s initial publication, countless women have learned through Nagoski’s accessible and informative guide that things like stress, mood, trust, and body image are not peripheral factors in a woman’s sexual wellbeing; they are central to it—and that even if you don’t always feel like it, you are already sexually whole by just being yourself. This revised and updated edition continues that mission with new information and advanced research, demystifying and decoding the science of sex so that everyone can create a better sex life and discover more pleasure than you ever thought possible.

If I had to pick one thing that really set me on my path to healing and reclaiming my power — it is this podcast by Kara Loewenthiel. It was recommended to me by a dear friend at the time I was going through my divorce and it changed how I thought about myself in some very important ways.

This a budget-friendly bone broth protein. I do add about 75g of leucine to the 2 lb container it to make sure I’m getting enough of that particular amino acid.
I only recommend the plain (pure) bone broth protein from this company. The other flavors have a bunch of junk in them that I don’t like.
This is best mixed in smoothies with some almond milk and frozen fruit. I do not recommend trying to drink this stuff plain.
You can purchase it here.

I am dairy intolerant, so I use their bone broth protein line. I can speak to the pure, the vanilla, and the chocolate. They are all decent tasting when mixed in smoothies.
I do very much enjoy the “pure” as a flavor enhancer for sipping broths, soups, and stews.
When I was a coffee drinker, I also enjoyed mixing the vanilla or chocolate into my coffee. You can purchase here.

I have used WHOOP for the last 850 days (and yes, that is squarely centered at the top of my user interface). I love WHOOP because, more than anything, it helps you develop healthy habits and gives you real time data about how certain behaviors affect your body. You can learn more here.
While a WHOOP membership is included with my premium, 12 month membership, I recommend it for everyone. You can purchase it here, through me and get a month free.

I’ve been using Primal Kitchen products for years. I love how quick and easy they make clean eating. I love their BBQ sauces, their mayo, and their salad dressings. Some of their products do contain things like potato starch which I choose not to eat due to my potato sensitivity. Please always read the labels and make sure the product your choosing is right for your body.
